NWP Writing Strand at NCTE

The NWP Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with NCTE Annual Convention, which features a writing strand, Writing and Reading in the Content Areas, offered by NWP. The strand will be held at the Gonzalez Convention Center. We encourage you to register for the NCTE Convention and attend the NWP Writing Strand.

San Antonio Writing Marathon

NWP's host site, the San Antonio Writing Project, invites you to write for yourself, experience the area as a writer, and meet NWP colleagues by joining the San Antonio Writing Marathon. Participants will gather at 8:45am in Seguin A and B at the Grand Hyatt. Be sure to bring your favorite journal and fastest pen.

NWP Booth at NCTE

Be sure to stop by the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and visit the NWP exhibit booth at this year’s NCTE Convention. NWP staff and local teacher-consultants will be on hand to provide information about writing project programs. The booth will also feature a game, publications, and materials from NWP and local writing project sites.

The booth is open Friday, noon–6:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm; Sunday, 9:00 am–1:00 pm

Early History Project Meeting

Join us for a discussion of how the fields of rhetoric & composition and teacher leadership influenced the beliefs and practices of the NWP. Early founding directors and special guests will start the conversation; directors and teachers from the early years are encouraged to participate. The meeting is open to anyone interested in the interaction, influences, or mutual benefit between NWP and the field of composition or teacher leadership.
