Friday Breakout Sessions

Tapping the Social Nature of the Web in Collaborative Writing

When: Friday, 2:00pm - 3:15pm
Where: Willis Conference Center, Lower Level, 104A

In this workshop, presenters from two writing project sites—Northern California and Red Cedar—will share examples of collaborative student writing in blogs, wikis, and online word processors and will discuss the collaborative nature of the assignments. They will describe their experiences as teachers and as collaborative writers themselves and share strategies for improving peer collaboration. Bring a laptop if possible, as the workshop will include some hands-on examples of collaborative writing in new media environments such as Word Press, PB Wiki, and Writely.
