Boston Writing Project
Joseph Check is with the Boston Writing Project at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) and is facilitator of the National Writing Project Professional Writing Retreats. He is the author of numerous articles about writing and literacy as well as the book Politics, Language, and Culture: A Critical Look at Urban School Reform (Praeger, 2002). He chairs the department of educational leadership in the Graduate School of Education at UMB and also directs the Leadership in Urban Schools doctoral program.
